WhatsApp finally announces its new communities feature and 32-person video calls.

Earlier this year, Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of the Communities features for WhatsApp. Now, this new feature is finally coming to WhatsApp users across the globe. The instant messaging service announced a plethora of new features for its platform that not only have Communities but also a couple Group features that entail 32-person video calls.

Previously, the 32-party calling feature was limited to voice calls only. But now, users can connect with 32 people all at once by video call. With this new feature, WhatsApp intends to compete with other video conferencing apps like Google Meet and Zoom.

Though WhatsApp took a while to roll out the large group calling feature, since this was in high demand during COVID-19, it isn't just there for that matter.

WhatsApp finally announces Video Calls

This feature can be used by large organizations, small businesses, or your family. Groups now finally get the support of up to 1,024 members. Engadget spotted this information in October. However, as per Engadget, these group features will not be available to everyone immediately.

The Communities feature allows you to create smaller groups within the community. That way, members can talk about things important to them and switch between them in an instant. Administrators will also have a few powerful tools that'll help them manage these communities.

WhatsApp's new communities feature has the ability to broadcast announcements to all community members and choose which groups to include. These groups will also have end-to-end encryption, making them more secure.
